Now I have the proof ! I always thought that the technology behind autocad was older than the steam engine !! :D

Worked with 3d: hm, nearly 10 years? I think Corel Dream3D is actually the first application I used for 3D... scary thought isn't it? :)
Worked with Photorealism: for a few years.. still, I don't do a lot of 3D.. mostly for visualising my design projects.
Why: because it's fun and makes my stuff look better. Oh and because I'm a geek

Age: Seems like I'm the young one...21.
From: Cornwall, UK (stuck away in a corner right down south...)
Family: Not just yet... :D
Worked with 3D: For about 2 years now. Starting in Lightwave, moving onto Maya, and hopefully Modo sometime soon.
Worked with Photorealism: Since Maxwell.
Why: I enjoy the creative freedom of it all. I've acted, and played guitar (amongst other things) for 13 years, but never had much in the way of drawing skills. However after falling into 3D a few years back, (someone gave me a job doing it, so I thought I'd better learn :)) it began to really interest me - so much so that I started my own business (currently doing product/architectural design, but that will soon be moving back to animation.) I'm learning ALOT, and really enjoying it.

Worked with 3D: since 2000, ADT R2
Worked with Photorealism: 3ds Max 4
Why: I am tired of having to draw sections and coordinate ductwork all day so the more Rendering I can do now the less I want to drown myself in the shower every morning

Age: 40

Family: married with 2 boys (age 5 and 3)
Worked with 3D: since 1992 but for the first 10 years in design and machining.
Worked with Photorealism: since MDT1 and max3
Why: I never thought about it! I started as a pattern maker almost 20 years ago, manual drafting turned into datacad, into autocad, into mdt w/ smartcam /edgecam/ mastercam into owning cnc machines, into owning rapid prototyping machines, into selling all that stuff and focusing on product design and prototyping, into rendering because I can't draw very well! I work in solidworks and recently in modo but really it's about 99.9% solidworks. Now my office is in my house and I love that!
