Quick question... Why Maximus wasn't the winner?

In terms of successfull render setup...

It woud've been

First Maximus
Second Nico
And third Tim.

Exaclty the other way around.

Please, Elaborate on your decision.

Well, Maximus' stuff wasn't really what the challenge was about. But I certainly appreciate his enthusiasm and good humor! maximus you're great!

I should have been around to guide the work -- I think Betty threw people off by posting that hunk of clay. I hate clay for visualization and product design!

But I could award Maximus the "best result off topic" award because he nailed a real clay look and feel.

:D

Chris

p.s. btw, markps -- it is difficult to have to justify my decision to someone who thought the competition wasn't worth it...

Big congrats to Tim for winning this challenge and also congrats to Nico for second place, good job guys! :) nice results you both achieved.

Mark: Thanks :) but let me explain more about what i posted if i were unclear in my post. I wrote and underlined in my post that the two tests i posted were not to included in the challenge, they were tests and not entries for the simple reason that if i would have won then i wouldn't had any use of the first prize since i don't own a Ipod or other mp3 player. So i thought it'd be better if someone who has a use of such a prize wins it. Personally i had fun learning to simulate clay both modeling and rendering as i now know how to do it for later on.. :) that's all.

Chris: No don't pity award me with anything please, as i wrote in my post above i never really submitted any entries to the challenge, i simply posted my tests of what i think clay renders should look like. Without having a clear idea of the rules of the challenge, as it seems i completly misinterpeted them. Thanks for arranging this challenge and good work with it :) i enjoyed it.

Congrats again to Tim and Nico :) good stuff.

/ Max

Thanks, everyone.

Definitely the bad is on me for not clarifying the challenge and stimulating interest. Efforts made by everyone was appreciated!

On to the next challenge!!!
