multilight?!
No, I understand that, I see 5 different images, or 5 different renders, so the question was, did the 7 days include modelling/setup for 5 different renders, or is that batch render only. If 1 took 21 hours, then it should've been 10 days to render approx.

Okay, I'm back from my interview for crew person at McDonald's. It went well I think. They have a pretty decent benefits package.

Tora, how did you do the tablecloth? It's wonderful. I like the way the chair is pushed in a bit and impacts the cloth.

Did you know that you get a free lunch if you work an 8-hour shift at McDonald's? It's true!

Hi Frances,
There are a few ways to create such a piece of cloth, but for this I used the 3ds max "cloth modifier" and not reactor as I used to do. (Thanks to my buddy Wolfgang Ortner for his kind tips here btw)
I believe it was a simple plane with 80*80 subdivisons dropped onto the table with the cloth modifier. I used the "cotton" preset for this one.
The small wrinkles and the chair pushing it inwards a little are modeled by hand after the simulation. The simulation itself took only about 4min on a Dual Xeon 3.2GHZ.
Hope that helps a little,

beautiful work

the first 5 images are wonderful. The only CG giveaway is the pin-hole camera distortion (which was immediately apparent to me at least). It's hard to do anything about this if you need a wide view.

Be nice to have more releastic camera models in Maxwell.
