Yes, incredible resource, already.........

Don't we need a category for "Plastics" in the drop-down list?

Only problem is that sometimes all the textures used in a material goes way beyond 700kb :( and then they cannot be uploaded along with the rest of the material. Other than that, it's great! lotsa real nice looking materials there already, some of which i never seen before.

Not for me, I reinstalled FF clean and the page does not load. I think there's a bug in the new FF.

The page loads ok ... the problem is when pressing the login button or when pressing the button to rate a material then FF redirects to a blank page (which gets annoying after a while).

You guys have no problems when rating materials when doing a login (with FF 1.5) ?

Login and rating works fine here (FF 1.5.06).

This is just great !! - and I think that this will make many more choose Maxwell as their number one renderer of choice in the future :D

A few suggestions:
  • - Make sure the test scene is updated as Thomas makes ajustments and improves his scene.

    - Add possibility to write some more info when posting materials eg. texture resolution in pixels, if they are tileable .. and a comment field to write for example where to obtain/purchase any commercial textures used but not included in the uploaded zip.

    - Add the Arroway materials so they can be viewed and obtained individually from this site

    - Add a contact mail adress or similar for problems and suggestions on this new site

Phenomenal idea/site ...... and I definitely see this filling up with mxm's. So,..I think the organization has to be better. Favorites and most Dl'ed are cool, ....but rather nebulous.

I'm just talking basic categories ..... wood, metals, etc... or is there a system and I just haven't deciphered it ?

We don't want to just rely on the search box do we?

If you click on Highest Ranking Materials, there is a drop-down that says "All Materials". You can then list them by catagory. I believe HRM just lists all materials according to rank.

This is very counter-intuitive. There should be a main heading called "All Materials" that includes a drop-down for showing them by catagory.

Yep, ....thanks Fran. I see it.

A little counter intuitive, .....the title Highest Rankiing Materials threw me off ...... why would somebody think that If they click that, ...then they'd find the Master Categories ...? So maybe a simple code change on that. :)
