The sapphire material was elaborated from absorbance data extrapolated from: http://www.gemresearch.ch/journal/No1/page20.htm, then adjusted to look like: http://famousdiamonds.tripod.com/bismar ... klace.html or: http://famousdiamonds.tripod.com/logans ... rooch.html and http://www.pbase.com/esantos2003/image/27806610
There is a great diversity of sapphire colors. Common small sapphires are not usually that clear, but my main ispiration was the Logan Sapphire. By the way, that imply that the price of the real thing would probably be somewhere in the 7 digit range.
