wow, how you guys buy appt's in US, do you attack banks.... hehe.. jjjeeez and I thought it was expensive here....

In Luxembourg, a mini studio in a condo goes for 300KE, and a 2 floor house for a min of 1 ME....

with 40 million, lemme tell you ... you could buy a castle with a large property, a large swimming pool, maybe a private golf, all fixed, furnish the inside, and you'll have some leftover money to buy a Mercedes...

That maybe why so many american buy these...

In france they don't have the kind of fortunated people like in US, so a very very few French people actually own a castle, and the happy few have to rent it a part of it, or make some visits to pay the roof fixing, you get the picture...

how many castles in France....

around 40,000 private castles... from middle age period (these need a lot of fixing ) to 19 C....... all kinds...

Sorry to continue hijacking, but I remember my parents seriously considering buying a chateau in France in the mid 80's (when it was 10 francs to a dollar). Not a dump, but a really nice smallish chateau (probably 8 bedrooms or something) with some really nice grounds. Price was $250,000.
