These lights need to be more like 'LEDs' but I'm so tired this eve [blame the client....no!] I don't know where to go with it...........any pointers suggestions for emitter settings would be gratefully recieved.

There's 1,237 emitters in there [split over both sides], each with 120 polys each  Ok for now, but there'll be seven of these monsters in the final shot....oh dear.

Hi Giacob, it's a steel 'statue' for want of a better word...........'leach on the national grid' might be another.

Stuart, ....excellent start.

Well, ...I'm surprised we don't have a LED mxm in the lamp folder.

All I know is that LED's produce light in the near to infrared and visible spectrum. I'm sure that little tidbit just sorts it all out for you !

The only thing in the presets that looks close is the metal halide, ...so that's in the neighbourhood with having the blue green spectrum. ... worth a test ..... :) Even if it's not physially accurate, ....might produce the results.

ps2: yeah, ...those old style carnival sign bulbs in the render aren't working.

Well I used the metal halide in the end & everyone was happy..........just wish we had a library of LED's to start out from, there's very little info on the web [that I could find] and manufacturers [of pixelbricks & pixiflex etc] are way too cagey about their technical info...............

Adjusting the colour temp got everything in the 'ballpark'.......forget what I did after that! too many late nights.........

Sensational looking image Stu ..... !

I was wondering where you were with this.... :)

What makes an LED's light so unique is that it emits at a single frequency. The plastic material accounts for most of the additional spectrum. I don't know how to do that in MW though. This really calls for the MW or A-Team physicists, maybe, to figure out.

Chris, Thanks......:) ..........I'm glad the jobs over, the 'night lights' where just one image of about 20 MWR treatments, followed by 2mins GI anim from LW........total brain melt I can tell you.......each structure took days to model.....then there were the design changes of course.....

I agree donb, I've acquired a range of stuff over the course of this project, the latest low-power LED's are getting used a lot these days and we need a top-drawer solution.

That's a good link Chris......I'll work my way through that when my eyes are better.

even the most difuse LEDs have a light path close to this one....

it would be good to nail this type of set-up too:

Stu, It seemed like you churned through it pretty good though Stu, ...it's good you have it under the belt. :)

Mark, ...hey nice simple pic. :)
Easy enough to model that, ......just add water, ..errrrr degree in physics and were good.

Stu, ....man, ...eeeks Those are some big gun industrial LCD's, ...hmmmm, ....can we just knock out a couple of flashlights first ??
