I know the spectral color math in Maxwell would be great for calculating real world pigment mixing, but it also occurs to me that the fluid dynamics math in Real Flow might be adaptable to paintbrush, wet paint, canvas interaction.

Ok.. why simmulate Oil on canvas on a workhorse machine with a $2000 software if you can USE REAL OIL ON CAVAS? hahahhaha If you need that all only for the UNDO feature I'd recommend talking a few painting classes 8)

But digital oil is cheaper in the long run and less smelly in a small apartment.

jfrancis: Using RealFlow particles imported into Cinema4D with the FlowTracer shader it's possible to get a decent mixing of colours.

Messing about, I once partially filled a tank with 3 RealFlow particle emitters, imported the seperate particles into Cinema and gave each one a seperate colour - don't know if the rendered result was accurate but it looked nice.

The downside - rendering particles makes Maxwell look fast!
