Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

yes, this would be cool.

a totally new designed operating system that is built on true 256 bit and kicks out all the 25 year old trash out.

how many cycles are spent in a normal cpu only for safety and checking if the command itself is allowed to be executed or all worms/viruae that kill everybody's last nerve.

a few years ago, an operating system was about 400 KB in size, much more we don't even need... :)

PLUS today's graphics cards render about 50 times faster than any main CPU...

if someone could learn me how to program this ... i think i'd start right now !

what do You guys think? COULD this become reality TECHNICALLY (would it work from a programming point of view)? where could be weak spots of our hardware we have right now?

It's true that GPU's are faster for specific cases but their coding architecture is still not completely comparable to a CPU. So, it's not possible to rule the computer with GPU, at least with the current integration. FOr further reading I suggest: http://www.gpgpu.org

good link !

interesting and one more realistic way than gradually build a new OS... :)

an interesting question would be if there is the possibility to raytrace with GPUs and if this could lead to solutions for specified renderers as Maxwell and Co.

Gelato goes already in this direction i think, but is barely usable yet.
