Bravissimi Azzurri!!! :D And compliments to the Bleues, too - but what happened to the great Zidane?? Well, maybe it's human to react like this, but for sure it's not professional...

thraxph - your little gif animation is interesting to study and then I add a conspiracy theory to spice things up :D

Matarazi looks like he has been practicing his falls. :D Notice the body rotation as he kicks his legs up and then falls down exactly on the spot. I must say he is well trained and overrode instinct. Look at the stange dynamics of the fall :D In a street brawl or suprise attack, your natural instinct is to stay standing as long as possible - the last thing you do is allow yourself to go down where anything could happen. If instinct was present, rather than training , then Matarazi would have staggered back as he fell. Wayne Rooney is a good example of instinct over training- his instinct as street fighter kept him standing and then , he stood on his tackler's nuts when he got the chance :D - obviously bad coaching :D . That was Wayne's mistake after the first tackle went in - he should have fallen , not stayed up :(

Oh well - another four years till more legalized violence

Numerous news sources write about Matarazi said racist things. Also notice how he twisted Zidanes nipple before the encounter, that'd sure get me raging.

don't know what materazzi said to zizou, he might had it coming, but come on.. nippe twisting? that was just boring and quite tame shirt pulling.

Yes Materazzi did celebrate his knockout.
Yes he did harass and bait Zidane all the time.
Yes Zidane should not have lost his temper.

Yet it was a walkout in style. Not highgloss style of course. But even more impressive: not giving away his legacy to endless dumb-ass glorification. Taking it all back to himself. Sweet harmony renounced. Quite apt considering his role in France.
Was that intended? Maybe not..

First thought so aswell, but notice how materazzi's hand is going from a flat to a pinched hold and how zidane reacts all of a sudden. Looks quite obvious to me. Either way it's history now :o
