Anyone interested in getting there images rendered at a high resolution over night for $100?
They are all AMD Athlon 64's, they vary in speed but the lowest is 2.2 Ghz with 2 gigs of ram.misterasset wrote:This sounds very promising. A few things you might want to find out for us...

I'll do this ASAPmisterasset wrote: -Take the test scene from the Maxwell Speed Test thread and render it and find out benchmark values so we can guess time needed.
This is not my area of expertise, but if someone want's to do it feel free.misterasset wrote: -Find somebody to create a Network Render Calculator (I'm still convinced there should be a way to do this).
Was already going to do this, good idea though.misterasset wrote: -Have a sliding pay scale, 10 computers for 5 hours, how much?
It will be pretty easy to remap the textures in studio so that the new path points to my network folders. If there are any problems I will need an e-mail address where I can contact you.Hyperballad wrote:Ahh very cool Maxer. How will you deal with problems if textures don't load, files corrupt on your end, etc etc etc....?
Yes, I can imagine using this service. Not every day, but when I need print-quality images. Currently that's 2-3 times a year because it's a supreme pain in the rear for me to render stuff. If I could do it more easily, I'd probably use more images.Maxer wrote:What I had in mind was to render any image for 8 hours on 16 CPU's at a resolution no larger than 3000x2500 for $100. If you want to let it run for 15 hours then it will be double the price. There are all kinds of other combinations of setups we could do for example 32 processors for 16 hours, that would be more expensive but you get the idea. I'll take the files in MXS format and will send back an MXI once it's done.
