look there is a problem with the mxm... some parts render black, try to load your mxm, make a new preview, then rerender, seem that there is a little mxm compatibility problem between v1 & 1.1, some material need to be updater with V1.1 mat editor, then repreview & resave

hope this helps

:) No this is not my problem...i did it in purpose (the mapping in this area is not very good so I put a black plastic).
My problem concern the broken line that appear from the top of the big sphere.

The two materials look really different anyway mate.

The V1.0 material has a different specular highlight to the v1.1 version, it's even at a different angle.

It looks as though you have a different roughness setting for the v1.1 version. Perhaps this is contributing to the line you have marked.

It also remind me of that on going smoothing issues for certain materials, which create jagged shadow areas.

The uv projector for the test sphere is a flat projector. Change it to sphere and press adjust button, this will give a better mapping result.

This is due to some adjustment of the anysotropy made by NL Team.

Can someone from A-Team or NL give me an answer about that. First the scene has been rendered from Rhino. To check if it was coming from rhino, I rendered the original Thomas's scene directly from Studio and I have the exactly same problem.

Please help me! Can I correct this problem or do I need to wait the next update?

Bump up??? do you mean increase the bump setting? I already try to increased it but it's the same. Can this problem come frome the volume himself?

Bump up...i know what you mean...sorry for my english
Yes, i try also but still the same.

But these were old bugs from V1 ... I don't know for sure what is going on.
I have rebuild the big sphere and remove the hole in the middle and the artifact have disappear. Now it's really good. So or there is something wrong with the volume (I don't think it's the case) or maxwell meshing have some problem and it's very sensible and as you said, it's related to a known bug.

After few other testing (see my first post on the top), I can confirm that in fact the problem is related to the same bug as here:
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=15553
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=12167

Thanks Thomas to point this.

I beleived that V1.1 will correct some problem but actually it created some new one also.
NL or A-Team, if you need this material i can send it to you by email. I hope you will give us a patch in the coming days.

Hi hyltom,

The problem seems like it's related to the known smoothing issue rather than anisotropy. Currently, using big resolution bump maps may cause problems with polygon smoothing due to insufficient mesh resolution. Try increasing your mesh subdivision.

Best regards,
Tom

Oh...:o ! thanks Tom for your answer I will try to mesh much much more then (my meshing is already very small). Thomas already told me to do it but I guess I haven't increased enough.

Honestly at some point, increasing the mesh resolution might not be enough to get rid of this problem, too. Can you downsize your bump texture and tile it?
