Hi,
I just installed Maxwell and Rhinoll.
Maxwell works but I can't render the basic test scene in Rhino.
I always get the "Error creating Maxwell material" when rendering.
I also tried with a new scene, a simple sphere, a plane and a spot light.
All with different materials and names.

Nothing happens.
Rhino is Rhino V3 Sp3.
What's wrong ?

I can't say I'm a newbie in this field, but it appears pretty criptic to me.

Thanks

Paolo

I had the same thing happen. Dont use the test file that was included. I tried it, and had the same thing happen. I had to close rhino and reopen in order to get a new file to work. It messes up all other attempts once you open the test file for some reason.

Rhinoll won't work if multiple objects have the same name. If you try to render with that situation, you must fix the problem with the names, then close the file and reopen it before the error is cleared.

I always select all objects in the scene and go to object properties. If the Name field says <varies>, I clear it. That way all objects have no name, which may or may not be desirable. I organize objects by layer now because of that bug.

If you are applying the material by Object, go to Properties and select Material. Then select assign by Plug-in and click Create. If you are assigning materials by Layer, make sure the material property is set to assign by Layer. Create and edit the material through the Layers dialog.
