Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

what do you think about an integrated camera flash light which can be turned on at the camera options bar with some possibilities like flashlight intensity, color etc?
so you dont have to put an emitter plane behind the camera and having trouble with the strength of the light etc....

That is an awesome idea.

I don't see the attraction of having a flash on the camera axis..... Surely it would be more useful to be able to 'attach' any emitter/objects to the camera at any orientation/distance?

The attraction is that you have more control over flash photo situations if you have a hardcoded flash that comes along with Maxwell's camera, you can control such things as releasing the flash slighty before you open the shutter or after to obtain certain effects, as long as Maxwell's camera supports those things. And if you animate and use a flash for your Maxwell camera, well then you can be even more creative :) so i think it's a good thing.

You could also have support for different types of flashes such as the circular flash often used for macro photography, and softeners for flashes and many many more types..

Perhaps there's more useful info here.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_(photography)

Hi Max,

Ok, sounds like you're asking for quite a lot

My point was that the flash would need to be a definable object, then you could build whatever flash system you wanted. Flash, as on a point and shoot camera, is pretty useless..

Hehe heya Miles :)

You're right, i'm asking for alot but it's better to put up a more detailed request so the coders have something to chew on and think about if it's worth it.

A regular flash like on any pocketcamera can any of us do as we done until now with a plane and a emitter on it. But for more sophisticated types of effects it'd be good to have a more powerful flash function to get a more real behaving Maxwell camerasystem, ofcourse as long as the camera itself which Maxwell has supports all these things which a flash can add.

Although i can imagine this is a tough one to code and implement so perhaps for the future, first we need the more critical issues adressed.

Yes a sophisticated real-time flash which would allow rear-curtain sync effects etc. would be great. :)

I still think my idea of being able to simply attach an emitter object to the camera, so that it moves with it, would be useful....that should be quite easy for them to do.

thats what i meant. flashlight shape, flashlight before the shutter closes and so stuff. it would be very very helpful

i´m happy, that i´m not the only one you likes this idea

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]

did you tried luxCore?
