nik_h - i really like your people's palace pics. now _that_ is architecture!

mine i took a few days ago in one of my favourite clubs - the "netzer & overath". i had to shoot it with one hand over my head. my panasonic dmc-fx01 has an optical image stabilizer which obviously does a very good job!

I walked passed a parrot today when I and my girlfriend were about to go and do some groceries shopping.

I once saw like 50 of them in the same tree, so I'll go back there one day and see if they it's a hangout where I can catch them on film.

This dude was like 1 meter from me

Unluckily I was out of batt and the bird is out of focus so one shot only :/

Nik: Those look great, and especially in black/white. I like that :) pretty architecture too in the second shot. Somehow it looks a bit like what you can find in Saudi Arabia and the areas around there..

Voidmonster: :O what kinda animal is that ?! hehe, whatever it is, it looks good in black/white too.

Espen: Cannes sure looks like a great place to live or to spend a vacation on. Do you live there ??

Zoppo: Hehe i agree with what Hervé said :D

jdp: Lotsa bricks there.. hehe is that some kinda museum or what is it ? cheers & thanks for including the camera settings :)

ludenhud: Pretty bird you caught, somehow it looks like another of your postcard type photos :D which is never a bad thing!

I went out mountainbiking today in the +26C heat, sweating like a pig phew! but it's great fun anyways.
Here's some shots i caught on my way through the forest and past the beach just 5 min from the city centre.

Max, that water photo is really lovely!

The animal in question was the 'Veterinary Medicine Lighting' animal. :)

Here's my picture for today. Taken last October in upstate New York at Green Lakes State Park.

The specs aren't handy at the moment. The only image editing done is very, very light work with levels. The lake really looks like that!

@jdp - for some reason I really like the greenish image looking down through the glass. It is sort of a combination of the viewpoint, the color and the stark subject with the strong lines - or something like that, anyway. The fact that you can pick up a little reflection in the glass adds a nice touch to the overall feel of the shot too.

@max - cool water shot - a polarizer would have ruined it.

@lud - the fact that you have parrots just cruising around is really cool. I have to go to a zoo or aquarium to see that. Amazing coloring.

@void - that is a nice shot, composition, texture, color.

Here is an old shot from last autumn - Fall Trials Event for my Land Rover club:

This has brightened a crappy 3-0 loss day in the US. Does the US team know it is in the World Cup? They sure didn;t play like it.

@ludenhud - your shots are always so vivid with those intense colors and great contrast.

@max - yep, lot of bricks: the building is a museum indeed, tate modern gallery, Herzog&deMeuron architects.
Btw, great contemplative shots from you, I like the rays of light coming through the trees.

@voidmonster - I like the mirror effect in the water, nice colors too.

@kirkt - thanks, indeed it was a lucky shot I took. Nice shot for you too and very nice way to spent some time outdoor... man I always dreamed of a Land Rover...

today's post, monographic on London eye, [David Marks & Julia Barfield architects]. as always images provided by my poor nikon coolpix 4100.

Andretto, i know what you're saying and i agree that the number of photographs being posted have grown rapidly in the past weeks, way beyond the number of renderings posted and it ain't good considering this is the Maxwell Render technical forum.

I never really expected this thread to grow as huge as it done now with 23+ pages, however i'm trying to see this as a inspirational thread where people have a chance to give their rendering and photography skills a boost by learning something as they photograph. If it works both ways we all benefit from it (hopefully).

And also as some of us post EXIF data along with our photos then it helps us when we work with Maxwell to compare a few parameters between the real world camera and the Maxwell camera.

But to not ruin the Maxwell forum then maybe this thread has to be locked or archived away so that people will focus more on rendering. I don't know.. it's up to the forum admins to decide if they think it disturbs the rest of the forum too much.

maximus, really that wasn't my point! :)
i think this thread is great, and so many great shots are inspiring and a pleasure to my (and not only, for sure) eyes.
my disappointment is only for the so-few-great-rendering part, believe me.
my disappointment is towards NL, and not the users who have made this forum such a great resource

ciao,
Andrea

PS. keep posting photos guys :)
