ricardo wrote:Hi,

I agree with Oliver, see the spots I marked:

I expected those to be darker, the scene seems to be over illumintated. It looks like you are using emitters on all the doors and windows. You have over exposure on the top door but you also have strong specullar on the cabinet bottom right, facing the opposite side.

The shadow from the mezanine on the right white pannel gets me confused... sun also?

Anyway, so much light from every side flatens the picture. Try balancing the emitters, something like strong ones from north, dimmer ones from south or something like that. Bring down the reflectances also, this should darken those corners.

Ricardo
Thank's Ricardo and Oliver for the comments, I'll try to balance the image lighting as you suggested, the image was done with RC5

hi,

and if you render the image with the same material applied to the whole scene ( a grey for instance ) ... what will happen ? just curious..
I just want to understand what's wrong there.

maybe a fast preview, don't wait for 2 days...

cheers

I've lowered the Monitor Gamma value, and the results seams to be better, may be that was the problem, wath do you think?

Hi,

that's interesting ! so actually you see in the grey version where the light is coming from... are you using the skydome ? and an emitter or the skylight ?
So then, because glossy was almost on all the surfaces, lights was propagating everywhere with a 'same intensity' .. maybe choose few surfaces that need to appear glossy and keep the other one lambertian. also the rendering will be faster.

thanks for that test !
cheers

I'ts Just a skylight with only the two lights above the bar (by the way: even than the emitters have really high values, they don't show up really)

Hi grupo4,

You got rid of some lights or closed some windows behind the camera, right?

Another hint: add some surroundings to the scene - You will never take pictures of a house in the middle of the desert, at midday and on top of valley covered with white sand. This makes light flood from everywhere, even from the ground plane.

You could try to use some basic shapes with textures.
