i read it shouldn´t be too difficult to implement in 3d apps,

here again my wish for a shift lens camera for us archviz people.

here are some reference images from sinar.ch, the ultimate producer of hi-end cameras:

shift lens camera

is it possible to get such a great tool with the next update ?

thanks in advance,

Yes it will be a great feature.

It will be great if maxwell camera can simulate a land camera (like sinar) where film plane and lens plane are not necessary parallel. It will expand our creative field and it will be a very innovative feature.

come on, you can not be serious !!!

this is perhaps an option for hobbyists, but maxwell aims to be photorealistic, so this IS an option of a photocamera.

doing this in post decreases the image quality and it is not usable for highrises that are 300 meters high.

we archvis guys (at least the pros) need a shift camera

I absolutely agree...no more half of the image taken by grass steppes! And i am happy that someone explained in correct english what i already had asked for (thinking that "shift lenses" had to be called "basculating lenses"=

yes please give us a shift lense!

this is soo needed. it is basic for a real camera like app.

also modo201 has it, and cinema and i think maya too.
3d max has it not, but at least some kind of builtin distortion tool to get lines straight.

for architectural perpective a must.

at the moment i have to render it much bigger-totally useless waste of rendertime, and then crop it in psd.-a terrible workflow.

so please NL. a real light and camera silulator should have this:-)

yes! again and again...

we architects or archviz people need this!

@ILLab: of course: 3dsmax has camera correction since a long time!
This modifier also works with mental ray.

@ ludi: Das ist ein Witz oder? Have you ever used it for professional renderings?

i know the camera correction...yes but thats not the same!, its not "physical correct. a real shift lense function is better, like in modo, maya, c4detc.
