I have made a few renderings trying to get high resolution images. I tried yesterday 4500x2200 at 3600 minuten and my system (iMac G5 1Gb ram) crashed seriously. I spend some time to get my system running again and for a while I though I had to send my iMac for repair.
Tried again now at 3500 instead of 4500 at 1500 minutes and crashed again but not as bad so I restarted. I think I better leave the system rendering until its finished before touching the mouse or get any other activity than rendering. Also got the screen saver and sleep mode inactive since my system refused to wake up after a few hours of rendering.
Well, I am wondering what the maximum safe resolution is on a mac with Maxwell. Any experiences here on the forum with high res results.
