@maximus3d - the panorama source images were taken by installing the camera in portrait orientation and then simply rotating the camera about the vertical axis of the tripod (pan) - of course if the camera and tripod are not perfectly level, the images climb/descend in a staircase fashion as you pan from left to right. Then you have to crop that off of the final panorama.

This is a nifty and relatively inexpensive device to aid in capturing image sequences for panoramas. i am thinking of getting it not only to level the camera and have more control over the sequence, but also for the ability to rotate the camera about the lens nodal point.

I tried to restitch the image sequeces above in Photoshop CS2 and got pretty terrible results - even though all of the images in a sequence were taken with a manually set exposure under unchanging light (imagine, overcast skies in London! Can you believe it?), PSCS2 had noticable seams where the images were blended together. Using "Advanced Blending" made the seams even more noticable.

I'll take some HDR panoramas with various tone mapping curves and post them here.

Thanks I do agree I have to move on and climb to the next level.
The thing I am up to though is the fear of taking photos of people in a close distance. It feels so dumb to stand there with my pocket Ixus 500 and taking photos of someone like the tourist I somewhat is...
I'm thinking about a new camera where I have the option to play with fstop and things like that because I'm feeling really limited with the equipment I have at the moment.

This is a sneak shot from the beach for some days ago. It's suffers from low quality due to ahh I don't know actually, sometimes my camera just won't take crispy images....

And this is a bonus from a beach BQ we had this summer.

And thanks maximis and thomasAn that made me glad to hear :)

ludenhud - you really should invest in a better camera (not that there is anything wrong with what you are doing with you camera). You have a great eye for photography and you will have a LOT more control if you use something like a Canon DSLR...

Leonardo - nice renders

Max - nice mortar and pestal shots. That might be fun to try with M~R :D

I took this a while back and I've since lost the specs for the photo. Taken with my regular Canon 10D with the 28-135 IS lens.

Who requested a spider from down under? :D

I was about to send a late postcard to my mother today when I saw this beast. Approximately 8cm from front to back leg.
I was too afraid to try another angle so this is what I got out from 10 shots from the same position.

Espen Oeino Naval Arch - Haha such a cutie :)

Voidmonster - I'd say you cropped the picture to the point where you feel there's not enough room left. It feels tight and I’m close to feel uncomfortable myself :)

What you can’t see your brain will create an illusion of and for me this photo has something in the background you’re trying to hide :)
Just some thoughts, cool action shot though.

Greg Montague - I've been thinking about that, but I can't really get my mind to what or if I should buy myself a new one...

Wow the picture of yours is great, I would have taken it in a nother format so that the just perfeclty posisionated fungus would be a more present component of the picture (Hum after seeing it again, I don't know what to think, it's firmly a great shot :)). I'd like to see more from you, make a daily post :)

Ludenhud:

Awesome spider picture! Now you just need to find a few huntsman spiders and take pictures of them crawling on your hands for scale!

And yeah, that picture was from my 'claustrophobic' phase of photography. I had been intentionally making my pictures uncomfortable. Been trying to let them breathe a bit lately though. :)

I ended up not going to LA and not taking any photos. So, here's an old one I took in the Anza Borrego desert.

I don't have the specs handy for it though, sorry!
