Ivox thanks, I didn't see that one coming :)
I'm flattered you'd liked it

I'm not sure of what to think about this shot...

Not to turn this thread into something out from its origin but I'd love to have critics on how to perform better in the future. Like c&c in form of constructive critic.

So don't you hesitate to inform me of what you think could have been done better.
And if you feel the same, make a note in under your posted photo and I'll leav something for you.

I think your photos look great ludenhud, you've got a good eye. Move on to people now :) I wonder how that pic with the man feeding the birds would look in b/w though...seems like a good candidate.

ludenhud: As always :) great photos, and i see nothing to complain about. In other words i'm too much of a noob to be able to give you any good or bad critics about your excellent photos.

tokiop: Welcome to the thread :) and it's good to see some b/w photos here too.

It seems like i'm running outta subjects to take photos of so this is just anoher dull closeup, and now it's of a tp-cable. :(

ludenhud,

Some very scenic views there in Australia ... and the water seems clearer than the murky stuff we get here in the East Coast, US.

Maximus: Nice closeup shots and good idea for starting this thread

Chris: I like the close-up of these screws ... (something about metal and highlights ... maybe its an engineer thingy :P )

Does anyone know any rules of etiquette for photographers ?

I usually get quite conscious carrying a camera (even a small one) into places ... like stores or populated locations ... I get the feeling that people do not like the idea of having someone with a camera nearby. Are there any rules of contact ?

Thomas: Thanks :D and i'm glad to hear you like this thread, so do i as it's good excersize in photography and very interesting to see all photos people post here from all over the world. About etiquette for photographing in public places with people in them.. i'd say use common sense and if you're gonna take photos of people it always helps to ask them first, depending on the type of photo you're gonna shoot. Ofcourse if you wanna catch people in a special moment or to get that "look" then you can't ask them before you snap the photos, just take them and walk away as otherwise it gets just too boring when people know they will get photographed and you loose that special moment you wanted to catch.

Voidmonster: Oh that's a good closeup! the coin looks great  but the egg looks pretty empty..

sam: Sweet looking clouds, i'd say a thunderstorm is building up there slowly. It might be forming into a anvil type cloud to the right :)

Keep the great photographs coming! :D we need more.. and more..

Apologies for the very poor stitching, but here's the view from my flat this evening... rain as usual. Cool double rainbow though!

Max: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not fertile. It was only laid about 2 hours before the picture was taken, but everything I've read about gecko eggs says I should be able to see signs of developing gecko in there already, and there are none.

I seriously polished the coin before taking the picture. :)

I was in London last week - here's Buckingham palace:

Image

The panorama was done with a el cheapo fold up tripod and stitched with Greg Ward's Photosphere. Greg is the creator of the Radiance (.hdr) file format - Photosphere is a Mac only app that creates HDR images from multiple exposure LDR images - it also will stitch together HDRs into a HDR panorama.

Here's Hyde Park:

Image

These panoramas were created from LDR source images (not HDR). Enjoy!

Nik: A shame about the stitching in your photo, other than that it's pretty cool with the dual rainbow config :D

Voidmonster: Hehe alright :) 2 hours only, damn.. that's nothing. Maybe you can cook the egg and have it for breakfast if there's no Lizzy coming outta it.. or no, that'd probably be a baaaad idea.

Kirk: Cool panoramas! how did you stitch those together ? did you just rotate the camera on the tripod and then sewed them into one in some program ? i'd love to try that too sometimes. Nice shot of Buckingham Palace.

And here's mine, these are kinda old now. I have no new photos from today since i'm packing my bags for a short trip down south this weekend. These photos of my old worn mortar will have to do.. but when i get back home i'll have new fresh good photos to share! :D
