I use a custum mxm tag for a special object, start the material editor made a new mxm,and load image map, after the material looks good
after start render ,i get the message render failed because"not enought uv material...blah..blah...,the reason seems the to be the mxm material
with the loading image map,i load a ready made mxm from the browser"inside arroway textures vol.i,all images" but after hit render again
i get the failer message that mcl cant find the textures ??? (all arroway textures are inside the Maxwell /material databe/textures/

whats the problem,?
i start maxwell studio load the mxi szene ,hit render and no problems ?

i think the material editor and the custom mxm in cinema are only good
for material setup and to render the szene later in studio?
because it seeems to be not possibel to render Material with loaded images maps in the material browser/editor and render it with a custom mxm ?? :?:

DarkSun wrote:In order for the custom mxm to work you must simply add a basic material to your object. So whatever you have your custom mxm tag on also add a cinema 4d mat which can be just a plain material nothing special. After that all should be good.

Also i found that some files like the Arroway textures, you will need to move them to a different path as i believe they are not pointing to the textures folder.

Thats the pint as long as i dont use image maps in the custom mxm tag
it works, but if there is a imahe map embedded ,i will get a error message.

if you can only render plain maps in the material editor . so the c4d plug ins is good for nothing !

sorry my english

ok everything works now

the important point is to have the images you that you use in the maxwell material editor copy to you cinema project folder "tex" and then hit the render button, otherwise you will get a error :)

sorry but it is hard to work with the c4dplug in

i correct the last post, you must add a cinema texture tag to the object with the added custom mxm (except a custom mxm with a loaded ermitter from the material libery )

otherwise you will get the same error "not enough material for..."

thats it....puhhhh

I don't get why a UV tag is needed anyway, even when no map is used.

It opens just another possibility to make something wrong - exspecially with
the very weak UV support for coordinates outside 0..1, aka UV wrapping.
