Very nice!

My eyes are drawn to the bell though, it somehow looks less real. Maybe it's the way the sides (faces pointing away) on the handle are darker? Or....the actual bell head looks like a 2D photo because of the reflectance mapping?

I'm not sure, but everything else is great!

Everything looks like a real photo except the bell and wood table. The table needs some more bump applied to the grain, and the wood handle and the bell material itself makes that one item look like vector artwork for some reason. Other than that this is prob one of the most realistic scenes I have seen with 1.0 yet.

Nice work. Love the material you used on the Budda. A bump map on the wall texture would help (the smooth shadows look fake). Also the wood table looks too perfect.

thank you all for the critic,... :D I will fix the stuff

the wall have a bump,...the problem is,..when the bumplevel is higher than 5 it looks a little fuzzy...but I will fix that!

The shadow look flat. This is not due to your very good skill. Just miss the support of displacement map to make your rendering perfect.

EDIT: Oops, i haven't read the other comments before. Some people already notice that problem. But anyway a bump will do nothing here, even with a 80% bump the shadow will still be flat. You need displacement map to handle that.

yes,..displacement will fix that,...but I am looking forward for that.... :)

Hyltom's right - bump maps won't help the shadow on the wall - but someday M~R will do displacement, at least I hope so :D

comments on the budda image.

just a few things that I could notice... very subtle

- the shadows on the edge of the stone lantern are very clean, its stone and I would expect a slightly bumpy edge to the hilights on the edge.

- The budda itself has a lot of mottling, which suggests wear and age, but the roughness is completely uniform. There would be a gloss on the sufaces, and dulling around the creases where dust and other coatings would accumlate over the years.

- same with the table... needs a big of roughness variations... even a really subtle photo of dirt would do the trick.

- Shadows on the wall don't match what we would expect from the rough texture shown, they are the shadows of a flat plane... perhaps put the texture into the bump map as well?

very excellent image?

@iandavis do you read the other post in a thread...maybe not?
The wall have a bump,...but a bump bring not the effect you expect...and displacement is not supported by maxwell right now.
The stone latern have a high bumplevel so it should be correct,....The table have a bump to but that is what maxwell produce...that´s one point I have to find out,...becouse maxwell render like that with different bumplevels,...so when maxwell bring us displacement there will come a new version for shure,...so thX for your critics and maybe read some other posts,...?
