This is my first post on this forum. (yes, I did a check for past posts regarding Revit plugins...so please hesitate before ripping me about that)
Just a thought, Revit 9 is out now, and although I don't know the details I read that it's supposed to have a revised API. Maybe its time to take another look?
An Autocad export would be a poor substitute because although Revit exports *.dwg files, the materials do not go through properly to *.dwg. Open a Revit export in Autocad and you will see a model without textures. And of course to use Autocad to render out to Maxwell you would have to have a license to both programs...an expensive and unnecessary option. Revit+Maxwell...really, that's a dream combination, it seems a shame not to have Revit in the Maxwell plugin list.
