This was the RC5 version after about 30 hours:
I opened the MXS in V1 and fired up a render without changing any settings, and after rendering 12 hours and correcting the exposure, I got this:
Looks like there's been a change in the material transparency settings, as this material is now much more transparent.
After altering the transparency to be closer to the original, after one hour I have this:
I played with the multilight feature to get this image. It took me a few tries to get the -ml started -- I had to find the option, then Maxwell crashed a few times after voxelization. But it is a GODLIKE feature.
In this particular case -- one emitter with complex geometry -- rendering appears to be substantially faster than before. That 12 hours render looks pretty good compared to the old one.
Overall report: Two thumbs up. There are still a few rough edges, but this release is going to be useful to me.
