Hi!

It seems transparency does not work from FormZ.
This apparently worked in Beta and is described in the manual.

I have tried using both an RGB jpg and a greyscale version
and loaded them into the transparency map in FormZ.

Does not work.

Has anyone else got this to work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi John,
Transparency was working with all materials but not well. Now we have improved the transparency/clipmaps area a lot. It is needed that you use new mxm's to get it, it will not work with old materials. I encourage you to read the topics of the main forum about clipmaps and transmisive issues.

Hi Juan!

From studio I can see that clipmaps seem to work
(although I need to focus more on this) however I cannot
use custom MXMs so it means I cannot get it to work
from within FormZ.

Why can we not just use a transparency map
from FormZ?

p.s. I read all the forums, daily and have done so for many months.
I get really incentivised when I see the great things other
people are doing with Maxwell but it seems they either have
a better implementation of the plug-in or they have resigned themselves
to using Studio. I for one bought Maxwell because of it's plug-in intregration and do not want to model in one package and then
reander in another.
