One quick question, I know there is a compass in Studio but will there be one in the native app like 3D studio? If not how do you know where the sun is going to be?

Hi Maxer,

You can export your scene with plugin, open it in Maxwell Studio and after setting the sun, you can copy back the parameters to your 3D application.

Best regards,
Tom

Why not set the sun by using the native sunlight system within 3d Studio, set up where and how you want the sun with Max and then set the time, date and location etc the same in the enviroment rollout

This is how i have always set my sun position

Cheers John

4 HeRo that's a good alternative to exporting to Studio, I guess I'll have to figure out which is the better workflow. Tom do you know if this compass feature will ever be available in any update?

I've got to say....this is awesome!!! This is a key feature for me.

At the risk of being utterly destroyed by everyone here though, my first thougt was, "Oh..they couldn't get regular dielectrics to work so they invented this workaround." Believe me, I LOVE IT, I just am amazed at how really complex the dielectric/glass/sunlight 'issue' must be. My hat goes off to all you programming-computer-gurus!!

Can't wait for V1!!
