So we know we are getting a Pc version and in the MAc forum they are saying they are getting a MACOS version too. SO are we getting a Linux version too. Is maya the only applicatation they support in linux. I tihnk that Linux users migth be the ones that take more advanag eos studio and the comman line.

this was a nightmare day for me :? my pc mysteriously died and now these news are not that happy to me.

this software was my first investment after university. I don't do render for living, but I need renders for my work. So the extra licence is kinda useless now, maybe in the future but not in the near future.

I mean I don't think I have time and money to invest in another 7 cpu (or 6 or 4 or 2 or what else, with the stupidest policy I ever seen I don't have a clue if it is per socket per core or).... !!!
users as Maxer would be happy for sure, but I am completely uninterested in this compensation so far, a free upgrade it'd be way better.

Plus feature relevant in architecture works won't be there.

Most of all I choose maxwell for its linux support, cause it seems one of the very few high-end renderer running linux, now there is no single word about a linux release, which made me sick. I saw your posts tiskal, aking for linux and nobody answered, now I am starting to fear that there is no interest for linux within the company....

And honestly for me beta linux was a crap, quite buggy and instable, I was happy to wait for a RC linux version, and it didn't happen.

probably it's just me but I am sad about all of this, better to go out, enjoy the spring, and maybe tomorrow it will be better. :?

I am not dicourage I hope that they get something working. Anyway I just came back in and you are doing good by enjoying spring it is just great.
Plus Tom has said that they are still supporting it. I am amazed thought that there is no new yeat which probably means that we will have to wait a little bit longer which should be ok for me. I hope that some time during the summer I can have a working maya, modo and maxwell in linux. Then the only thing I would need would be a descent CAD program, but compare to where I was one year ago things are moving toward a more mainstream use of Linux. The only way to improve things is for people lie you and me to keep on asking.

adaptation?
I am sorry, but here is where my english fails me. what do you mean by adaptation?

Also, do you have any idea if Nl plans to realese a 64 bit version soon or at least make it so that I can use all of my Ram on Linux once it comes out? I don't know if that is not a problem since I have not beign able to use Maxwell since I bought it. I never tried beta so I have only used it on Windows.

anyway it is always nice to get word about it.Thanks Tom for the info.

you're welcome, tom. :)

let me say that adaptation it's really a puzzling word. :? hopefully mw would be at least specifically compiled for each architecture, otherwise it would be pretty unusable, but I am sure you guys know your stuff.

what really interest me is if you can be a tiny more specific on how long it will last after 26th, can you?

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS
.Win, OSX, Linux*

(*) comes with 1.x Add-Ons for free
:?: :?: :?: :?:

what this exactly means?
since there is several key issues marked with the * symbol (.mxi resume, hd option, archicad plugin, etc.) I wonder if they are planned to come all together or separately, can you please elaborate on this?

the planned linux version will also ship as both 32bit and 64bit compliant?

Yes, the current delay is obvious, I hope it won't last long. Linux is not too far, don't worry.
