Possibly this has been mentioned before. I think we must have a scene and/or material translator. I know Vray has one. I can't say what exactly this translation will be, but it would be nice even if it was an automatic translation to maxwell diffuse materials without maps. This way we can have a quick test scene from every other renderer and we can easily see imported geometry.
There is a problem with the lights of course, but I think it can be solved

As I can see, there is no answer to this post, either to agree or disagree. I would like to think that as an obvious YES, that you want this to exist.
Anyway, I would like to give 1-2 examples.
We didn't start working some months ago, when we first bought M~R beta. I have many projects with other engines and I would like to try with Maxwell for many reasons.
I have some models of plants, cars, people, trees, etc... with standard materials. This kind of models don't need to be very detailed. For example a car needs a r plastic material for the color, a metal for the wheels, a diffuse material for plastic parts and a dielectric for glass. Try to think of translating these materials for 100-200 models. Then you must have a lot of spare time!

I won't sign it, if it is not a piece of art.. So far, I haven't done any...
