I know I've beat this drum before.
but the alpha with hd switch would have been a great version to keep us using maxwell for production while we wait 12 months and beyond for them to get the new engine and studio up to scratch.
I still use the alpha everyday for my business, it has working clipmaps, so for archviz it's great. I can only render a maximum of 1800x1350 pixels so I have to rely on enlargement software to get bigger images.

I quit posting in such a needless discussion. But now I really do not understand some of users.

Many of us shouted for cooperative rendering. Now when NL annouced, that cooperative rendering is solved and working. Someones shouting again. Oh god we have cooperative rendering, NL is making us to buy another licence and another CPUs. But they only want to show us, one of feature is working, finally.

It is probably due to long waiting for final release. We wait so long, that users are dissapointed and angry.

hmmm, maybe we will all be happier without knowing the answer...

maybe just working on to many things in a row, so it is to time-consuming to put it all together ones in a week to some releaseable produkt?

Hi Maxer,

The biggest reason is that the program is much larger/complicated now. You can't be suggesting that they should try to release updated plug-ins, and a newly-written installer for the main app [for all 3 platforms, of course] every week...just to showcase how some small feature has been debugged? That would likely take the entire week leaving little [read: no] time to actually enhance or debug anything in the first place.

I think they've rightly chosen to swallow the bitter [re: forum criticism] pill instead, and give new updates when substantial progress has been made...and more importantly [re: RC1]...reasonably debugged.

Isn't cooperative rendering a substatnial update? And another thing, if you know that we are all waiting then do not show me a video unless the think comes out the day after.

No I'm not suggesting they do it every week, but once a month isn't too much to ask. I wouldn’t consider cooperative rendering a small feature since NL clams that "time barriers are broken and are no longer an issue". If you haven't noticed the single biggest reason that Maxwell isn't usable to 90% of its customers is because it to freaking slow.

i really do not mind the 'slow', any other software specially on interior scenes will also be really slow. Yet at the end of the day there is no noise. The noise is what is killing me.

There are two possible reasons for NL not getting involved here:
A)there is nothing new and don't want to face the music.
B)They are coming out with it soon and this forum is kinda of a joke and they'll be aughing it up after they come out with it and we all have to shut up.

If B is the one, then i really do not appreciate it. I am not a child, as i am sure most of all aren't. I have a bussiness that rellys on my performance and right know its hurting very badly because i am as blind as a bat.
Lets have some respect overall, just because this is a furum does not mean that we have nothing to do. I'm sure most of would rather be working so that we can get paid, and move along our projects./

Well, Maxer, I believe that the video was mainly showing the basis for cooperative rendering, that being the technical ability to combine .mxi files. The networking details are, of course, problematic...which I'm sure you're aware of (I can't see your avatar right now  ).
