I just lost an 40+ hours render time image due to a simple overwrite of the result. This happened without any warning and without creating a backup.

An app that dares to claim 550+ MB hard drive space for a scene and needs
2 days to render it halfway decent could and should claim another 1MB of
my HD to save the 1k image it is going to overwrite as a backup.

Or at least it should ask before destroying hours of (machine work).

I am with you 100%
This is a must and I wonder why nobody from NL or A-team bothered to mention and fix. I lost two pictures this way too. Not something very important but I can imagine how you feel right now.

I agree. A warning (or automatically suggested renaming) would be nice ..

This is right up there with UNDO as one of the top "must have" items to include in future releases.
