I read a post about selecting objects by material. This is very important.
I just want to add the ability to get material from scene.
In architectural drawings we use a window that comes out as a block from Revit->DWG->3dsMax. When I export to MXS, I can't have imediate access to the glass of the window. It is very useful to be able to get the material from the scene, change it the way I need to, and then I know that there will be the correct glass, frame, etc material to everything.
