Zuiko digital 8mm F3.5 fisheye.

Modeled with Blender 2.4, rendered in M~R beta via Max 7 plug in. 2000x1000 resized to 1000x500, contrast added in PS7.
Studio lighting set up, with 3 emmiter planes and physical sky enabled for the lens reflections. I will re-render this with RC5 as and when, so I can use the coating system for the lens surface.

As usual, click the thumbnail and then the bottom right of image, if you need to resize it.

Final render:-
Image 14hrs to 17samples of 25 & 2000x1000.
Cutaway:-

Clay render showing lens assembly as in situ and exploded view:-

Nice modelling, how about an dielectric lens material and then a view through the lens of a scene to get a true camera view ! :D

one thing I notice with maxwell, It forces you to model and texture much better as the results are so physically accurate. Good work :D

Thankyou for the kind comments. I hope the updated render is improved.

I've also added the missing cutaway view and a wireframe render.

My intention was to use this in front of the Maxwell camera, but the problem I have had, is where the focal point needs to be.

Any suggestions would be great. I'll gladly put up the Max file if anyone wants to try.

Cheers,

Tim.

...nice collection Tim. Maybe a wire over the 'clay' render would be nice ...or a little better than just the plain ole wire. :D

Thankyou. :D

If I can recreate the materials with RC5 I'll do a new version which includes coatings for the lens. The glass is missing the purple & gold tint that you find on real versions of these lenses.

(This is an actual photo of the lens I modeled, so any tips on how to improve my render would be great. I need a bump map and text map etc :D)

Thanks,

Tim.
