Nothing special about this one. A bit of a departure from my regular stuff. Just twidling away my Sunday night trying to do something constructive and stay out of trouble.

I used the Z depth channel on this one for the first time - just to isolate the colors of the rose in Photoshop in order to get them to stand out from the rest of the image. Used SSS on the petals and just a touch on the leaves (though it really dosen't show on the leaves after the post work).

well this sunday night was spent pretty productivly and you ddint even end up in jail.. But the pic is awsome

great techniqe to use Zdept tho isolate that rose, looks so vivid and fullof life, i guess due to some color corections saturation adjustments, really adds to the pic, but i must say apart form the composition and details, lighting, your cats look AWSOME! I'm loving this pic, loving your artistic idears! you should definatly have them allprinted out and frame em as a maxwell series.. also your pics would make an awsome Maxwell calender?!? yes no.. maybe with special renderings of head, hand, feet, or butts, representing certain important maxwell dates in the calander too?

...I'll be honest Michael, ...I could of done without the rose. Would of preferred a really simple flower (gerber daisy) or something a bit more snooty.....like an orchid. ....beyond that, .....holy smokes!, what a cool render. ...so natural----this is what seems to be missing in arch.vis -- a little soul. I think you captured the essence of cats perfectly ...especially with the one in the far field that looks to be 'cleaning'.....completely convincing. super work.

3dtralpractice - Nope, no ultraviolence for me except what's on TV (I'm about to put in 'Man on Fire' - that should be violent enough ). I may actually do the calendar thing. www.cafepress.com will print whatever you send them onto a calendar. I just can't figure out which month is most appropriate for the butts ???? Thanks for the compliments!

ivox3 - I've got a Cattleya Orchid in my bag of goodies. Or how about a Crown Imperial Frittillaria? I bought a CD with 81 high resolution plants and flowers. They're really great! Got a favorite color? BTW.. I was going to have the cat licking it's hind-end, but I thought I better keep this Rated-PG

...that's a nice CD to have. I think a lt.blue periwinkle or on the other end of things ....maybe a red/orange something. ...but don't let me sway any artistic freedom.

very well thought, it's a public forum after all. i must say i like the second (untouched) one better though. don't know why, it looks "richer".

Well done mate! that's really nice and so clean, how do you get it so clean ?! my renderins never get that clean no matter how many eons i let the puter chew on them.

Personally i like the 2nd untouched one too, it's better

(i bet you have one of those tinfoil hats..)
