Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

I wish we could have a virtual ground plane (of an infinite dimension) that could go to the horizon line.
I wish this ground plane could be asigned any material.
I wish this virtual ground plane could be set to invisible, so that certain background image could be seen through it, and at the same time the objects in the scene could project shadows on it.
This will be usefull in case of Architectural photomounting.

Thanks Tom´s explanation, we have found that The following message was based on a missundestanding:
I thought that the Maxwell Image Editor was able to edit exposures by loading the JPG file, which I thought that made to load the MXI file too.
The real true is that this MXI file reading is not implemented yet.
Sorry if I made somebody else to missunderstand this topic!

Therefore My wish would be: Enable MXI edition, to save several exposures from a saved HDR file in format MXI
I do not know if this is a wish or a bug report, since I do not know the intention of the MXI file designers.
Anyway here I go:
Currently the MXI file is being affected depending on the Burn and Gamma Values used in the rendering process.
In case the Gamma value is 1 and the Burn value is set to 0, the MXI file has its highest posibilities.
Otherwise the possible exposures saved from the MXI files would be limited which results in a lack of contrast and detail loses.
In case this was the intended use: I wish to change this so that the MXI will store the full information no matter the gamma and burn values at the rendering moment. In case this is
a bug: of course I wish it to be fixed.

Currently the colours we see in the perspective shaded window, are decided by the user picking a colour independently from the assigned material.
I wish a second option, that could be the default:
Set automatically colours depending on the assigned materials.
In this way a transparent material could determine a wireframe object, that is transparent too, and which lines colours will match the asigned material. In case of a non transparent object we will see a shaded surface with a colour that will be an equivalent to the asigned material.
In adition, when switched to this mode, the objects with no material assignment could be shown in a bright RED color that will be usefull as a warning, saying hey! I have no material assigned!

Thank You Tom and Rivoli

Now I understand that MXI files canot be loaded to edit several exposures in Beta.
Anyway I wonder if this is possible in the RC4....
Well it seems that the most urgent thing would be some kind of documentation that can clarify some facts about Maxwell.

Currently all the objects in a 3d model are named with the 3dmodel file name, and a number.
I wish the objects in Maxwell Studio can keep the original names, before importing to MS

Clipping Planes for Architectural Sections
Sometimes it is not possible to show certain spaces in a single image.
Architects must show the designed spaces in the most eficient way.
But images sometimes cannot show them in a single shot.
That is why a clipping plane can help to position the camera in a better viewpoint, while reflections and lighting would remain unchanged as if the space would be closed.

I can see that the cameras could be moved easily, and there is no way to lock them in order to keep the good viewpoints.
A locking option would be great!

Maxwell physical sky setting: ELEVATION - such as feet/meters above sea level- im thinking the higher in elevation-thiner atmospher, bluer sky,etc

funny you ask it... I remember asking this too... yes... at high altitudes, the sky (looking up) is almost black sometimes... or really dark blue...

i would like if in MR1.0 we could have "baking textures"!

I can tell you right away that we won't have it in Maxwell 1,0... but they said it's planned for future versions...

Since the ability of reading external referenced files in format MXS will not be implemented soon, please implement a way to insert a MXS file and lock it somehow, so that it will not be modified accidentally in a very complex scene.

Regarding the CUSTOMIZATION of Studio, I wish there were a possibility to load a pre-configured setting for the 3d applications that Maxwell supports.

In my case a 3ds max 8 setting that would make navigating in Studio very similar to navigating in Max 8.

Thanks
