If you have a chance, take a look at Hogarth's classic..."False Perspective"...it falls to an extreme of absurdity regarding perspective -- which I'm definitely not suggesting is the case with your room. But, it might offer some food for thought as you rework your room.
Just to be clear, I'm not advocating that anyone should devote much, if any, time to study false perspective as it's certainly better to look at use of good perspective and proportions for reference when working on developing skills.
