This is becoming a problem now. I have to get renders out to clients and this damn tiling problem seems to be inherent. Any texture that is tiled across a surface does not render correctly.
The first instance of the repeat renders lighter than the rest so I get a small, bright, square in the corner of a larger surface, while the other repeats render fine.

Just to clarify:
One surface.
One texture mapped to tile (repeat) across the surface.
First instance of the repeat is brighter. Rest are fine.

Has no one else had this problem in max/maxwell? Is there some parameter I need to activate, like a 'make render not suck' button?

Regards,
ML

Are you tiling the texture map in the material settings or tiling the UV map in the UVW mapping settings?

I found the material tiling gave me errors, so I tiled the UV map settings.

Tiling in MXED works best for me using a texture tile & uv map tile (in Max) of 1x1x1. (Only annoying thing is the tiling display bug in Studio when in texture view mode.)

Thanks for the responses, working now. Seems like it was a corrupt file.
