yup, it's getting better, it's time to show off some new material now.

Wow. I'm impressed. I was expecting some type of compromise between noise and the precision, but it looks like they managed to maintain the quality of the render while still reducing the noise - good job!!

I remember one of the most difficult situations regarding noise is when you had a material very close to a dielectric, like in those glasses.

Thanks for posting these, especially considering it's almost midnight, on a Saturday.........it's Saturday?....

What is really missing is sampling information about those pictures.
I mean. If at the same time they reach about the same level, then the improvement is because of better sampling technique (which is higly propable)
If on the other hand it is because of higher sampling, (which is highly impropable), then something important was previously overlooked.

I am sure that importance sampling techniques could be much much more improved. All known import.sampl.techniq. are "general" and not scene adaptive, so i guess in the far future we could see sampling adapted to scenes and speed increasing rapidly.

Little photoshop equalize reveals the noise in the darker areas(outside walls with r1.0) better...

Is there also an outside light source because in the first picture we can see brighter stripes on the right side walls?

Airbrush is better than leveling for revealing the noise I think. It's just 23 min on p4 and this is just your first post. Makes sense?
