Thanks Nicole for the update! However, I hope Next Limit uses a license policy similar to that of Vray.

Can we get some information about how the new version is actually going to be installed onto a user's PC. Is it going to be a case of updating the already installed V1.1, or are we going to have to uninstall and reinstall completely? This could be a nightmare for those of us who have their material libraries referenced within Maxwell's material database. I don't want to go through 1000 materials again to update a file path for a new version :(

Thanks for the news. I eagerly await 1.5, and the new license policy... what could that be... hmm.....

Cheers,

So when is it released? Did someone above mention an exact date or is it still roughly mid May?

1.5 already??? I smell trouble

Now that the easiest thing as the HDR output was confirmed now I only need displacement to be a satisfied man. Bettery sky model and procedural maps would surely make me even more satisfied ;)

I'm surprised nobody mentions the new memory improvements.....is that a good thing? :) A small detail? These are pretty significant, lots of people had trouble rendering at high rez, or rendering with many multilight sliders.

Most definitely the Memory improvements are a good thing but I'd say that most people are more interested in whether Maxwell is faster and has more of the features that have been begged for. IMO speed increases are going to benefit the community much more than memory improvements.

At the same time, what good would speed improvements be if you couldn't start the render in the first place? :) Speed is always nice, but with the quadcores now much cheaper, especially the QX6700, you have about a 3x speed increase compared to last year.

Yes Mihai, the memory improvements are very important and it's good to hear that they are coming, but that has already been mentioned and appreciated after the announcement of 1.2
