@Ivox3: Here's why, from the first paragraph in this paper dealing with a possible use for this phenomenon:
The wire-grid polarizer (WGP) is a metallic grating with period smaller than the wavelengths
for which it is used

I doubt that it would be realistic to assume that Maxwell would have the ability to deal with this esoteric situation, even if we could model it. If it were, Maxwell would be much more than a 3D renderer. Not that it wouldn't (read: won't :wink: ) be fun to try some workarounds. :)
