Not exactly my mistake because we all are trying not to slam any other software into any ones face.

Though perhaps my fault none the less. I wish I could be as suave as 007 but it's just not in the cards
Ah, the fog is lifting.
So you intentionally made a post, which would in your mind, subtely compared Maxwell to Fryrender. But, you were clever enough not to mention Fryrender. Wow! What an intellect.
And the number of converts to your cause must be between 0 and 1.
I think there is another word for that technique, and it rhymes with "roll".
Hey, I can be sublte and clever too.
I see this Forum as a place to learn and share in a way that benefits the other members that use and rely on Maxwell Render. You seem to have a completelly different concept.
I think you've officially graduated to my "Do Not Respond List".
I wish you all the luck in the world.
First you tell me that I need to be more informative.

Then you get coy and say that my subtle comparison was blindly obvious.

So you’re saying that I didn’t give you enough info but you saw it anyway?

You’re Too, Too much Glip.

All this because I said there is knowledge available to you that you’ve chosen not to have. What an ego!

I’m not saying to buy anything else. I’m just saying that most here have informed themselves about the 3d world at large. When you argue ad nauseam it would be nice if you understood all available information on the subject.

Glip, show me where in this forum I have been rude to you in a way that is obvious to all and not in your own mind because you seem to be flipping out for no reason.

You've choosen to be insulted

Well, I wouldn't call this "stunning", but it is a very utilitarian render of one of my pieces. Intaglio engraved frosted rock crystal inlaid with 23K gold. The design is inspired by a 15th Century Samurai silk pattern.
Its currently being considered by one of my museum customers.

Customer loves it. I think it needs work. But as I don't charge for renders, its done. They'll Photoshop the diamonds. Background is lambertian water.

Bang, and we're on topic again ;) :D

I like the design! have you tried to use the preset studio lighting that you can import in studio via File/Import from library/scenes/studio_cm
works really great for me, I use that preset for a lot of my work, you can also add your own if you like, that way it's always available in Maxwell Studio :)

Cheers!! :)

Hi Nico,
Yes, I started by using the Studio presets. But found it to be fun and helpful (re sales) to make renders particular to the customer. The museum people like the very plain look of the quartz piece. Retail people prefer something that looks more like what they see in jewelry mags or instore display case. And other customers want the look you might see in Niche or Metalsmith magazine. So I have fun learning to achieve these looks. Fortunately, as most other people are going in with something like a Rhino screen shot, almost anything I do looks very good by comparison.
Maxwell Studio makes that much easier for me than C4D/Advanced Render.
These are currently just sales aids for me. But in time it would be nice to see them used in catalogs or POP displays.

A short off topic comment,

If people could post imageshack images without the {url} tags that would be great, i usually click on them expecting larger versions.

Sorry for the interruption, i hope you don't mind :o

again, i'm tired of all of this...

NL : sure that you have done incredible things on the new release, but have you just done all the basic stuff we ask?
Displacement, number of bounces, working render layers (with the missing like reflection/refraction, matte shadow etc), displacement blabla bla blabla etc blabla bla? ha and blabla as usual (Do you read the wishlist, just in case of?)

I won't care the new tools, i'll certainly use them, but i won't say thanks, cause i didn't ask for them...

Ha and why didn't you renamed it 1.3 or 1.4 or 24.432 ?
Answer : cause you just do what you decide, without justify

Now i WANT the release date, and i WANT to know what it is exactly about
