As a long time forum observer and occasional poster, it is clear no matter what NextLimit communicates, there's a small but vocal supply of disappointed customers.

NextLimit has made lots of contributions in the last year including a materials gallery, amazing plugins for several platforms and updates for several others.

We can all imagine more and want to be using Maxwell on a daily basis for all of our realistic rendering needs, but product development takes time.

Thanks NextLimit for your leadership in this exciting new area of development for visualization!

a delay is not a good news... a rushed released wont be any better .. but a release on time and well tested would be the right thing .. and is not impossible to do...
so not any bushing for the nth delay but neither too much enthusiasm...
.. disappointement? .. no... i got used to delays by now...

am i beeing too much critic in saying that? frankly dont think so

If i'm making money with Maxwell now then i'll be doing well when it actually works. Thats the way i see it.

I would wait longer if we were talking about Maxwell 2.0 with RS2.0
Since NL has already named this release as Maxwell 1.2 (that means limited improvements) the waiting period has been very long already. :?
Well, Maxwell is the best renderer I've seen and one of the best software I've used so let's be patient. :!:

If 1.1 was released in july 2006, and 1.2 is going to be by april-may 2007
, those are 9-10 months!, should we expect maxwell 2.0 by 2013?

So the bottom line is that the first quarter release will be missed.

It sok if they miss their first quarter deadline if it's not too long. The fact that they are not releasing a newsleet until next week probably mean that we will have it soon after that rather than they realease a newsletter and say that it's delay. I would be worry then sinc eit would mean we had to wait a couple of months.

There shouldn't be this ring of silence,
But what, are the options?

nicole wrote:Hi again,

There will be a newsletter in one week, and it will have some very interesting information about the new version of Maxwell Render...the release won't take months, it will be here soon, but we want to have a good, strong release, and not a hasty one.

Thanks!

Nicole
Nicole, you again give too much info away by using certain words.

I wish I had the money to buy all the talented programmers who work on Maxwell and give them a much better manager.
