I know it's a bit confusing to manage that venetian blinds.
Yeah, the angle is important. My draft was not precise about it.
The planes are very very close (like 0.5 mm) each other and they have a slight angle like 10 degrees.
In fact it depends on your viewing angle.
I mean, if you place the cam direct and planes have no angle then it'll show the emitter. (total white)
Don't forget to use plastic with no color and just specular mapped
Also give emitter a slight angle to back depending on your view angle.
Otherwise, bottom of your screen will be brighter due to geometry.
And the distance of emitter is important... You can ride it into planes also.
When you make it closer to front, it'll shine more. Keep the wattage low.
Don't make it so close or you'll start to see the white emitter if your blinds' angle is so low.
