It's hard to say sometimes - not always because the CG is so great (although sometimes it is) - but because sometimes the photo retouching is so extreme. They might have done label changing and a little bit of droplet rearranging on a hero photo.

The ice looks kind of fake, but sometimes by the time an art director is done saying 'smooth this,' and 'lighten that' they can make a real thing look fake.

---------

lots of Photoshop on this one, as I look again. The ice cube looks flopped and cloned, the 'transparency' looks fake, and the ellipse shape of the top of the can is the same on the tall can as on the shorter ones.

Might very well be CG but I think anyone of us could have done it much better. The ice cubes and water drops on the cans look terrible...

The ice is photoshop - transparency without refraction, fgroundreflection of the ice cubes isn't mirrored. Maybe the product is a photo and use a printed drop pattern.

Wonderful Link, Francis!

About the can shot, it looks like those drops were photoshopped like the icecube.
The drops look very flat and don't seem to go beyond the edge.

great site!

It was a bit unfair of me to pick that "photo". A lot of the other stuff, both photos & design looks really great!
