Congratulations NEXT LIMIT!
I was delighted to see the launch of the Maxwell Public Beta Area.
As the official anounce says:
It means that as customers, you get access to the most recent builds, and won't need to wait for official releases to get the latest fixes. It will also help us to reduce development cycles, meaning that you get better versions of Maxwell, faster!
In order to access the beta area, all you need to do is be signed into the forum, then go to http://www.maxwellrender.com/betas/ The beta area is for license holders only, and you must be registered and have posting access in the forum. If you haven't yet registered, or you have registered but can't post, please use the link "Register for forum posting" found in the Customer Portal.
In my opinion this is a great step in customers service.
Customers will have the choise:
a) Experiencing the top features that NL is developping directly from the kitchen! And at the same time help testing and debugging the great new stuff!
or
b) Enjoy extreme stabilty in official (not Beta) versions, already extensively tested in the Beta Public program. Avoid dealing with unexpected issues and concentrate in production efficiency
Anyway whatever is your choise, you can switch from a to b or viceversa, addapting to your particular situation:
Fighting a short deadline, or startinga really complex project may deserve to stay using Official Maxwell releases.
Having extra time, or want to enjoy what is new in future Maxwell versions, surely needs to try the Betta Program for a while.
Again: CONGRATULATIONS NEXT LIMIT!!!!!!
Hope the program will surely help everybody to do their work, and enjoy Maxwell at the same time!
Thanks!
Ernesto
PS. The lack of this policy in the past was the obstacle that prevented me from upgrading my licence. Now I will not have an excuse! Anyway I will follow carefully the next official release, after the program is working on to see the improvement!
