I bought Maxwell Learning Edition. I want to activate the license offline, because my computer is not connected to the Internet. Activator, however, still require an internet connection! What am I to do?

The license activation needs an internet connection always (to allow the system validate your user key) but the internet validation could be performed in a different computer than the one that is running the RLM License server.

All the license system is based on one computer of your own which may have the RLM License Server installed and running (once installed, it will run always automatically). That RLM License Server (once validated online) will serve licenses for all the computers in your own network.

But some users prefer to have the license server running in a computer without internet connection.

So, how the first online validation may be in that situation? You can run the license_validator application in a different computer (having internet), follow the instructions to perform an "offline" validation, and the system will ask you for the MAC Address of the computer that will actually run the RLM.
It will generate a license file that you will transfer to that computer so it will get validated and ready to serve licenses to the rest.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Offline activation does not work!
"I want to activate the license offline or in another computer: Select this option if you wish to activate your license offline (no internet access) or if you wish to activate the license in another machine. By selecting this option, you will be prompted to enter the Host name ID of the machine." - it is written in your manual. But it does NOT work!
Please fix the error in the activator! I need to work!

Hello wlf_alex,

As you are licensing Maxwell Learning Edition, no RLM installation is needed.

You will have Maxwell installed, validated and functional in one computer (node-locked to that computer) that if you want it could stay offline (not connected to the internet) so you will have to perform the validation on another computer with internet access.

To do so the easiest way:

1.- Install Maxwell in the computer in which you want to work with it. Launch the Maxwell.exe application (even still unlicensed) and in its Console panel, take node of the Host ID of that computer (see screenshot here: http://support.nextlimit.com/display/mx ... ng+Edition).
2.- Install Maxwell in another computer with internet connection (just for the validation). On that computer, find the license_validator application inside the Maxwell application folder and run it.
3.- Follow the validation process: Maxwell Learning Edition>activate the license offline and use your user credentials and the Host ID of the Maxwell computer.
The process will generate a license file for that computer that you will need to transfer to the Maxwell computer (inside C:\ProgramData\Next Limit\Maxwell\licenses).

Once finished the process, you can install Maxwell from the validating computer to avoid any further conflict.

Let me know if this works.
