Ahh. That explains why they're not in there. A p-trap is the s-shaped (yeah, I know s-shaped, but called p-trap...anyway) that keeps a small amount of water in it so that fowl oders and such don't come back up into the bathroom. Just look under your sinks at home...you'll see one. If not, then...well...potpourri my friend; potpourri.
