I found this interesting. Looks like it's right up Maxwell's alley. NVIDIA scientists figured out how to simulate waves on top of rays, being able to accurately render certain wave diffraction phenomena efficiently. It's also much faster than standard raytracing.

Good find. Interesting. This could be the break through Maxwell needs to jump ahead with speed improvements, and it's NVIDIA which seems to be a favourite of Next Limit. Fingers crossed they're onto it.
