What is the best way to create a image that can be illuminated to appear to be a back lit or LCD screen. I remember it could be done creating an .mxi from an image, but don't remember the details in regards to making sure teh image isn't over exposed etc.

Any suggestions/links.

Thanks

You just need to open the image in Maxwell, and then File>Save as MXI. It will convert it to an MXI file but since you started from an 8bit file it won't be a high dynamic range MXI. It will still be ok to emit light from in most cases though, it will look like light from an LCD screen.

Since posting this I've had time to experiment more. I "liked" the scattering I've been getting but, honestly, wasn't thrilled with it.

The I used a 9 blade aperture mask with a dust obstacle map and a wee bit of diffraction and scattering - wow!

I would give that a try.
