A bit of history, I got the paid version of Maxwell for SketchUp (V1) a couple of years ago when I was running SketchUp 8 Pro, I've recently upgraded to SketchUp Pro 2013 and updated the Maxwell V3 (the free version to get myself reacquainted before i go paid version.)

I am having issues with the entire thing (Maxwell and SketchUp) crashing whenever a render scene is around 8.5-9.0. The model is a very simple test model with only application textures and no HDRI images or anything. I am running it on a Mac Pro with dual 2.26ghz quad cores, 8gb ram and OS X Lion 10.7.5

It worked fine on the old SU8/V1 combo...

Any ideas what's causing the crash?

Please try using plugin version 3.0.1, mentioned here, and let me know if that helps.

That seems to have fixed it, sped up the render a bit too.
