Marton,
Good morning! Marton I may be able to upgrade to modo 601 this weekend since they have a special on a upgrade price. So i was wondering are their any issues I should be aware of with the current Maxwell 601 plug-in. I use modo at work as my primary 3d app as well as maxwell as my primary render. Just want to make a wise decision.
Thanks Gadzooks

Hello Gadzooks,

The problem is that I don't get many feedbacks nowadays from modo 601 users. So I am not sure.

The newest plugin should work fine, if you have any issues please let me know and I will check/fix it.

Hi,
new modo user here. long time maxwell user...
I'm just wondering if anyone else is having difficulty with 601 Sp5 and the latest maxwell plugin?.
When I open the maxwell plugin interface, I'm not getting the options appearing as I click on cameras, render, environment etc in the shader tree, so I'm unable to adjust any settings for maxwell...

Hi Maron,
please see the link below. You can see that when Render, Environment etc is activated in the shader tree, the properties show up in the maxwell plugin tab.
(screencap taken from work pc which is working fine as I am running an old service pack still).
at home though with SP5 the properties simply don't appear for anything. :(

Here is the same screenshot from my home pc, with modo SP5 and the latest maxwell plugin. It's the "maxwell properties" tab that seems to be missing.

It seems you have accidentally changed this viewport setting to "(none)"

But it is easy to fix.

Go to the top right corner of this window (right from the "(none" title)), and click on the small triangle.
In the popup menu go down to the "Viewport Settings" and from the choose "Maxwell Render - Maxwell Properties"

I hope it helps!

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the help. I must say modo/maxwell rather than C4D Maxwell is really getting the better of me at the moment.
With your post above, I dont seem to have that option. any ideas?.

Why is "Viewport Settings" disabled? I don't understand.

But you can try to delete the main modo config file, maybe something strange happened there.

It is called MODO501.CFG (or MODO601.CFG or MODO701.CFG) - depends on your version.

You can find it in the <your users folder>\AddData\Roaming\Luxology" folder.

If you have special settings stored in this file, you have to recreate them. (It is recommended to save the file first before you remove it from the directory.)

…no need to delete the config file.

From "Viewport > none", it's needed to set that viewport to "Form View" first.
When it's in "Form View", "Viewport Settings" are available and can be set to "Maxwell Properties".
Hope, it helps.

O, sorry yes, there is the point!

I have forgotten that you have to change the view type first. Thank you Simon for the correction!

no problem, Márton!
(I crashed so many times in this issue that I now finally have reached a state where I will most likely never forget it anymore  )

…and a bit OT:
as the upcoming 701-plugin will be my first plugin-update: May I ask where you are going to post the availability usually?
Directly in the "Modo plugin section" or in "Maxwell Render Announcements" section? Thank you in advance!
